Jen Bentz Fire Sword tribal workshops domba

Jennifer Bentz has been bellydancing since 1999, beginning with Egyptian cabaret, then falling in love with tribal in 2000 when she found Domba. With Domba she has studied many tribal fusion forms such as American, African, Indian, flamenco, hip-hop, and darkside over the last 6 years. Jen is also well acqauinted with props such as Skirt, Basket, Poi, Palm Flames, and Flaming Swords, to name but a few. She is continually furthering her skills and her most recent passions include Circus Side Shows and Burlesque. Oh-la-la! Jennifer is a founding member of Bedouin Tribe, a lead role in Boom Boom Productions, and also a member of Fyrae.
"Only second to motherhood, dancing and the friends I've made doing so have made my life so complete! I couldn't imagine my life any other way."

Sunday 29 October 2006
1.30pm - 3.30pm
Intermediate Tribal £22 (£20*)

We will go over cues and combos mainly inspired by Domba! with some of Jen’s own combos as well. We will work on formations and lead changes, and discover which moves work best and are most impressive with these formation and lead changes. This will be very beneficial to those who dance with a surrounding audience and want new ways to change things up!

Tribal Sword £22 (£20*)

In this workshop we will go over combos and cues to use while dancing with your sword. There will be some moves handling the sword, some with it balanced, and some with it as a "weapon". Watch out boys!!! I will also very briefly go over some information on lighting your sword on FIRE and dancing with it for those who are interested.

Sunday 29 October 2006
6.30pm - 8.30pm
Tribal Skirt £22 (£20*)

Learn a series of combos for skirt and flamenco style music. There will be cues for these moves, however I will be stringing them together in a semi-choreographed style to demonstrate which moves flow smoothly into one another. There will be some emphasis on posture, and skirt handling methods as well. Bring those sassy attitudes!!!

A 10 yard skirt or larger is preferable, however any loose skirt will still enable you to gain some feel for the dance, and of course there are the combo's to remember....
